Using the dashboard
Today's bookings and services in one feed, with per-day actions for adding and printing.
The Dashboard is Light's home screen. It shows the work in front of you grouped by day — both scheduled bookings and standalone services in one feed — so you can open the day, see what's next, and act on each row without hopping between pages.
What's on it
Each day has its own block. Inside the block, rows are sorted by time and labelled by type:
- Bookings — scheduled and walk-in. The customer's name, the service, the start time, and a status pill (Booked, Attended, Past Due, and so on).
- Services — encounters started without a booking (see Starting a service without a booking). Same row shape, with a service-only indicator instead of a booking status.
Days with nothing on them are collapsed into a quiet "no activity" line so the screen stays focused on the days that actually have work.
Per-day actions
Each day's header has an Add menu with the actions you'll usually reach for:
- Add booking — opens the Create Booking sheet pre-dated to that day.
- Add service — opens the Add Service sheet (no booking is created).
- Print run sheet — opens the run sheet preview filtered to that day. See Printing a run sheet for what's on it.
Opening a row
Tap a booking or service row to jump straight to its detail page. From there you can mark attendance, edit details, record an encounter, send forms to a kiosk, and so on — the dashboard is just the entry point.
What the dashboard isn't
- Not the calendar. For a time-grid view of bookings against resources, use Calendar. The dashboard is a list, sorted by time, focused on "what's next".
- Not historical. The dashboard centres on today and the days immediately around it. For activity over a date range — what ran last week, last month — use the Bookings report or Vaccine count report.
- Not a filter view. Dashboard rows aren't filterable by service, status, or resource. Use Bookings for filtered lists or Calendar for resource-grouped views.
