Completing onboarding
Walk through the setup wizard the first time you open Light.
The first time you open Light, you land on an onboarding wizard that walks you through the minimum setup needed to start taking bookings. Each step configures a different area of the platform — the wizard is a structured way to do the same thing you'd do via the Settings pages.
The steps
- Welcome — introduction. Tap Get Started to begin.
- Accept Policies — review and accept Light's terms. Required.
- Store Details — name, email, and phone for your site. Some fields may come pre-filled (marked PREFILLED) if they've been set at account creation.
- Configure Bookable Services — pick which services you want to offer. For each, set Duration, Price, and Availability Model (Standard, Constrained, or Virtual). Toggle each service on or off.
- Set Availability / Configure Resources — add the rooms, staff, or equipment your services need. Tap Add to create one (e.g. "Consultation Room 1"), or tap Skip to defer — you can add resources later from Settings›Resources.
- Public Booking Settings — configure your public booking URL, branding (colours, logo), and booking notifications (recipient mode: store email, all users, or a custom list).
- Completion — a confirmation screen. You're redirected to the Dashboard after a couple of seconds.
Skipping and coming back
Most steps must be completed before you can continue — the Continue button is disabled until the current step's fields are valid. The only step that can be explicitly skipped is Set Availability; every other step is required.
After onboarding, every setting configured in the wizard is editable from its respective Settings page:
- Store details — Settings›Payments (business profile) and Settings (site profile)
- Services — Settings›Services
- Resources — Settings›Resources
- Public booking — Settings
Nothing set in onboarding is permanent. Think of the wizard as "get to a bookable state fast", not "lock in your configuration".
What onboarding doesn't cover
Some setup happens outside onboarding:
- Trading hours — set after onboarding at Settings›Trading Hours
- Integrations — PRODA/AIR and PPA are configured separately at Settings›Integrations after onboarding
- Team members — added from Settings›Team
