Sending a form to a kiosk
Push an intake or consent form to a paired kiosk so a customer can fill it on the spot, without needing a booking.
When a customer needs to fill in a form — a vaccination prescreener, a MedsCheck consent, an intake questionnaire — and they're already in front of you, you can push the form straight to a paired kiosk. The customer fills it on the kiosk while you keep the counter moving; submitted answers attach to the service the moment they tap Submit.
This works for any form on a service, whether the service was created from a booking or started without one.
Before you start
- A kiosk device needs to be paired and online — see Setting up a kiosk.
- The form has to live on a service or encounter. If it's a form the customer should fill before you start the service, the customer-driven walk-in flow may be a better fit.
Steps
- Open the service
Open the customer's service from their profile or the encounter page. Scroll to the forms card.
- Send the form
Open the overflow menu on the form row and tap Send to kiosk. The Send to kiosk sheet opens listing every paired device.
- Pick a device
Each device shows its current status — Online, Busy (mid-way through another job), or Offline. Tap Send beside an online device. If the device is busy, Light asks whether to replace the current job before sending.
- Hand the customer the kiosk
The form opens on the kiosk straight away. The customer fills it in and submits; their answers land back on the service in Light with no extra step from you.
What happens to in-progress work
A device that's already running another job (a different walk-in, a different form) shows as Busy. If you choose to send anyway, the previous job is dropped — Light asks you to confirm so this isn't accidental. Use this when you've checked with the customer on the kiosk, or when the previous session has been abandoned.
What this isn't
- Not a share-anywhere flow. Send to kiosk only goes to a paired device on your site. To share a form via SMS or email, use Copy form link in the same dropdown instead.
- Not for forms a customer should fill remotely. For pre-arrival prescreeners or intake the customer fills at home, the public booking surface and walk-in URL handle that — see Creating a walk-in booking.
