Managing a paired device

Edit, revoke, or delete a kiosk device.

Paired kiosk devices appear in the devices table at Settings›Kiosks. Each row shows the device name, connection status (online / offline / revoked), pairing state, and when it was last in contact.

Actions per device

From the row menu:

  • Edit — rename the device or change its allowed network ranges (CIDRs)
  • Revoke — disconnect the device without deleting it. The pairing is broken; the device would need re-pairing to use again. Keep the row if you plan to reactivate.
  • Delete — remove the device entirely. Use when a tablet is being permanently retired.

When to revoke vs delete

  • Tablet is temporarily offline (battery died, taken for repair) — leave it paired; no action needed
  • Tablet's pairing seems broken (device won't reconnect, status stuck on offline) — revoke, then pair again with a fresh code
  • Tablet is lost or stolen — revoke immediately; then delete once you're confident it won't be returned
  • Retiring a device — delete

If a kiosk goes offline

Kiosks show an offline indicator when they lose network contact. The customer-facing screen continues to work for in-progress interactions but can't start new ones. Check:

  • Device's wifi or network connection
  • The device's browser is still on the kiosk home URL (some tablets auto-navigate away)
  • The pairing hasn't been revoked in admin

Re-pair if the device was revoked; restart the browser session if the page navigated away.

PIN management

The PIN that gates the connection sheet is set on the Kiosk Settings card, not per device. Changing the PIN affects every paired device at your site. See Setting up a kiosk.
