How-to

Deleting a resource

Remove a resource permanently and record why.

Deletion is permanent — there's no deactivate-and-restore option. Delete a resource when it's no longer part of your pharmacy's bookable capacity.

Before deleting, check:

  • Is the resource linked to any active services? Those services will fail to accept new bookings if they have no other available resources
  • Are there upcoming bookings? They won't be automatically moved — you'll need to reschedule them to a different resource first, or the booking will hold a reference to a deleted resource

Steps

  1. Open the resource

On Settings›Resources, open the row menu and choose Delete. Or open the resource's detail page and use the delete action.

  2. Pick a reason

    Select:

    • No longer needed
    • Duplicate resource
    • Replaced by another resource
    • Decommissioned
    • Other (free text)

The reason is recorded on the site's audit trail.

  3. Confirm

The resource is removed. Linked services automatically lose the link; they stay configured but may now have no resources in their pool.

Alternatives to deletion

  • A staff member is on extended leave — don't delete. Use blocks on the calendar for the leave period, or temporarily set their resource's availability to a restricted schedule
  • A resource is being replaced — add the replacement, move service links over, delete the old one last
  • A resource is under maintenance — block time on the calendar for the maintenance window rather than deleting
