Deleting a customer

Remove a customer record and record why.

Delete a customer when the record shouldn't exist at your site — typically a test record, a duplicate, or a customer who has asked to be removed. For a customer who's simply moved away, leave the record in place; it holds their booking and immunisation history and doesn't cost anything to keep.

Steps

  1. Open the customer

From Customers, open the row menu and choose Delete. Or from the customer's profile, use the delete action.

  2. Pick a reason

    Select one of:

    • Duplicate record
    • Incorrect information
    • Customer request
    • No longer a customer
    • Other (free text)

The reason is logged to the site's audit trail.

  3. Confirm

The customer is removed from your site. Their bookings are also removed from your site's view.

What deletion does and doesn't do

  • Removes the customer from your site — they won't appear in search, the Customers list, or reports
  • Doesn't delete AIR records. Immunisations submitted to the Australian Immunisation Register stand independently of your Light record
  • Doesn't withdraw submitted claims. Manage those separately from Claims
  • Is permanent. There's no restore. If the customer later needs a record, create a new one — their AIR history is still available to the new record via their Medicare or IHI

Duplicates

For duplicates, pick the older record to keep (it has more history attached) and delete the newer one. Check for any bookings or files on the newer record first — those don't transfer on deletion.
